Tanushree Dutta the actress who reignited India’s movement in 2018 with her bold confession about the harassment she faced in Bollywood has once again shaken the internet. In an emotional and vulnerable video circulating on social media Tanushree has revealed that the trauma in her life didn’t end with her public revelations. In fact she says the harassment has continued relentlessly ever since—a shocking reminder of the difficulties many whistleblowers still face years after raising their voices.
A Cry for Help
In her recent Instagram video Tanushree can be seen breaking down in tears pleading for support as she describes her isolation and ongoing harassment:
“Guys I’m being harassed in my own home. I just called the cops. They asked me to come to the police station to launch a complaint. I’m probably going tomorrow or the day after. I’m not well. I’ve been harassed so much in the last 4-5 years that my health has deteriorated.”
She describes having to manage daily chores herself claiming she cannot even hire maids due to alleged incidents of sabotage—ranging from theft to psychological games. “People come outside my door… I’m being troubled in my own house” she said, describing a sense of being trapped and alone.
Disturbing Patterns
Tanushree’s distress isn’t limited to sporadic events; she reports years of:
- Loud banging noises and disturbances at odd hours both outside and above her home.
- “Planted” domestic help allegedly engaging in theft or otherwise acting against her.
- Frequent visits by strangers at her door adding to her anxiety daily.
- Building management reportedly ignored her complaints.
- Deteriorating health is attributed to stress and consistent psychological pressure.
She’s even developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which she blames on the unrelenting stress and anxiety she’s endured since her initial disclosures.
Police Involvement
The situation recently escalated to the point where Tanushree called the police. She said officers asked her to file a formal complaint at the station—a step she plans to take despite her illness and exhaustion.
“I’m sick and tired of this harassment!! It’s been going on since 2018 . Today, fed up, I called the police. Please someone help me! Do something before it’s too late” she wrote in a caption accompanying her video.
The Harsh Reality Behind the Hashtag
Tanushree’s story is a stark reminder that the struggle for justice and peace doesn’t end with a trending hashtag or a viral news cycle. Those who speak up against powerful systems often pay a prolonged very personal price. Her ongoing ordeal highlights the urgent need for better support protection and systemic change—not only in Bollywood but across all professions.
